SNOW PLOW OPERATOR TRAINING

Course Title: SNOW PLOW OPERATOR

Location: On-site (at customer's location)

Course Description:
Snow Plow Operator training includes Winter Operations and is intended for those who engage in or oversee winter snow & ice removal operations, including snow plow drivers, equipment operators, roadway supervisors and lead workers.

Snowplow & winter operation training is an ideal refresher program for experienced operators, intitial training for new employees, or a bases for collaboration and brainstorming. It provides an overview relating to winter maintenance priorities, responsibilities, safety precautions, snow removal equipment, inspections, liquid and pre-wet applications, monitoring systems, and methods of control for streets, highways, roadways, airports and parking lots.

A Bianchi Group Instructor will visit your location to provide employee training and conduct a field observation of each operators ability to safely navigate the snow plow. Program content can be adjusted to meet particular issues or concerns, and the instructor will personally assist individuals with sticking points. Snow removal equipment must be available for this training. Customers receive class rosters and course evaluations. Participants receive a wallet card 'certificate of completion'.
Snowplow & Winter Operations Training

Course Objectives:
Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to:

  • Understand priorities and responsibilities within their jurisdictions.
  • Understand key functions, precautions and potential hazards.
  • Conduct preparations for winter operations.
  • Understand snow and ice removal techniques.
  • Gain knowledge of various equipment, systems and technologies.
  • Be able to inspect and maintain snow removal equipment.
  • Determine applicable equipment for specific uses.
  • Demonstrate ability to safety operate equipment (performance evaluations optional).

Prerequisites: None

Recommended Personnel to Attend: Truck drivers, machinery operators, crew leaders, Supervisors, managers and mechanics.

Hours: 4-6
