Course Title: ENERGY CONTROL (LOCKOUT/TAGOUT)
Location: On-site (at customer’s location)
Course Description:
Workers performing service or maintenance on machinery and equipment may be exposed to injuries from the unexpected energization, startup of the machinery or equipment, or release of stored energy in the equipment. The Lockout/Tagout standard requires the adoption and implementation of practices and procedures to shut down equipment, isolate it from its energy source(s), and prevent the release of potentially hazardous energy while maintenance and servicing activities are being performed.
This course helps you meet OSHA's lockout/tagout training and retraining requirements (29 CFR Section 1910.147(c)(7)). It will give your authorized, affected, and other employees the information they need to help prevent injuries and comply with OSHA requirements. Participants receive a wallet card certificate. Customers receive class rosters and course evaluations.

- Differences between authorized and affected employees
- Preparing for shutdown
- Shutdowns
- Isolating equipment
- Applying lockout/tagout devices
- Releasing lockout/tagout
- Releasing stored energy
- The use of tags alone
- Lockout/tagout inspections
- Group lockout/tagout procedures

Recommended Personnel to Attend: Workers required to control the sudden release of stored energy.
