JOB SAFETY ANALYSIS

A Job Safety Analysis (JSA), also known as Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) or Task Hazard Analysis (THA) is a risk assessment of a specific job, task or process to identify, analyze and record 1) the steps involved in performing a specific job, 2) the existing or potential safety and health hazards associated with each step, and 3) the recommended actions or procedures that will eliminate or reduce workplace hazards to an acceptable level.

When conducting a Job Safety Analysis, each segment is reviewed and examined to identify hazards and potential hazards within the process or operation. Solutions can then be determined for the safest and most productive methods.

Besides safety, the Job Safety Analysis is readily expanded into other aspects of an operation. While still regarding safety as an integral part of the analysis, it also considers communications, overall production and effectiveness within the developed procedures, while verifying they work in accord with adjacent work tasks and operational activities.

Regardless of whether your industry is construction, oil & gas, manufacturing or surface mining. Our JSA Specialist can help you identify and refine specific job tasks that otherwise present a danger or issues for workers, operators and equipment. The JSA is conducted with your experts during on-site observations, interviews, workshop and brainstorming efforts. Finalization includes a review on the equipment or process to validate accuracy and acceptable outcomes.

Benefits from a Job Safety Analysis:

  • Assist in completing comprehensive accident investigations.

  • Reduced liability exposure or to assist in litigation support.
