Course Title: DE-ESCALATION & PERSONAL SAFETY

Course Description:
This course teaches a common sense approach for handling individuals with behavioral issues that are disruptive, assaultive or out-of-control. Techniques show how to recognize and manage aggression that ranges from low-level aggression to high-risk violence. Training includes tools for the prevention of violence, how to handle face to face aggression, working individually or as a team using crisis management strategies, intervention and verbal de-escalation techniques. Instruction includes personal safety and self defense strategies, hand-to-hand defensive techniques and maneuvers, and debriefing skills necessary to re-establish communications after a crisis.

This program is intended for human service workers, customer and public service workers, receptionists, law enforcement & correctional officers, security guards, educators, youth & juvenile workers and bouncers. This program can be customized to meet your specific needs or application. Participants receive student manuals and wallet card certificates. Customers receive class rosters and course evaluations.

Course Objectives:
