Course Description:
This course is a common sense approach for handling individuals that are disruptive, aggressive or potentially violent. Techniques include how to recognize and manage aggression from low-level disruption to high-risk violence. Training includes tools for the prevention of confrontation, how to handle face-to-face aggression, how to work individually or as a team using crisis management strategies, intervention and verbal de-escalation techniques, and debriefing skills necessary for re-establishing communications after a crisis.

This program is intended for social and service workers, customer service employees, receptionists, law enforcement & correctional officers, security guards and teachers. This class can be customized to meet your specific needs or application. Participants receive student manuals and wallet card certificates. Customers receive class rosters and course evaluations.

Course Objectives:
Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to:

Better manage disruptive and aggressive individuals.

Perform preventive crisis management strategies.

Demonstrate verbal de-escalation skills.

Understand personal safety issues.

Use intervention skills.

Use debriefing skills after a crisis to re-establish communications.
